Abstract (EN)
It is important to know the annual hospitalization and the bearing capacity of the psychiatry clinics in order to achieve the treatment offered to psychiatric patients to plan more healthy conditions and for the formulation of health policy in our country. The purpose of this research is to determine the average length of stay of patients with the most common diseases treated in Boylam Psychiatric Hospital. The population of the patients are taken from Boylam Psychiatric Hospital between the years 2009 and 2014. The sample of the study is consisting of the 526 patients with the most seen diseases. The study used a retrospective analyze consisting of the five year period (2009-2014) of 526 patients which had been treated and discharged. It is discovered that the average length of stay of the patients are 21,85 ±19,20. The highest length of stay is seen in the male patients which are aged between 36 to 55. The average length of stay of the patients which are covered by social insurace is seen higher than who doesn't have social insurance. It is discovered that patients who suffer from schizophrenia has the highest length of stay with the average number of 36 hospitalization days. Other diseases such as depression, OCD, drug abuse and anxiety disorder has similar number of hospitalization days which are between 21 and 25. The shortest length of stay had been seen in the treatment of heroin addiction with the average hospitalization days of 15,26. This study revealed the results of a psychiatric hospital inpatient services average length of stays and tried to improve the hospital's efficiency.
