Parents and teachers' evaluations on early childhood books

The research was performed in order to determine have the teachers and parentsput the books of children of kindergarten age to use and which features they payattention.In this research the common researching model the research contains the teacherwho has performed their duties in kindergarten schools of Afyonkarahisar during 2006-2007 semester and skilled trainers and the parents whose children have studied in thesame schools. There are 81 villages, 16 towns and 51 cities? school in this research. Theteachers which has been teaching in these schools and the students which has beenstudying become model for this research.The poll consisting of 27 questions which was prepared by the owner of thisresearch was used to determine thoughts of the parents and the teachers about the booksof children of kindergarten age. The data which was acquired at the end of this researchwas evaluated by using SPSS for Windows. One Way Anova and Independent SamplesT Test were carried out on the analyze of data.In this research these conclusions have been reached. The differences came intoexistence between the the education of the teachers who have been teaching inkindergarten schools and the change of behaviors which the books leads the children.It was discovered that the teachers which graduated from the university havemade positive thoughts about providing the children with the chance of expectedbehaviors that the others who graduated from the high school.There are great differences between the length of issues of the teachers who havebeen teaching in kindergarten schools and evolution of the children books. Whencomparing the thoughts of the teachers who have been teach for more than 15 yearswith the others who have been teaching for one or five years. It is understood that theteachers who have been teaching for one or five years deal with the topic which is aboutthe mention of the different all the more calmly.Thanks to data which was obtained from the research. It is concluded that theparents who work for government are more sensitive and pay more attention about theselection of the books than the others.It is examined that during kindergarten?s period parents make connectionbetween the selection of the book and gender. According to this it is discovered that thefathers show less sensitivity than the factor on front page of the backs not includingviolence and fear explaining the story according to plan paying attention to differentculture comprehending cause and effect, building the bridge between the real world andimagined things the books? providing the students with performing drama.
