Profiles of elderly people depending on their local living situation in Antalya-ibradi district example

Objective: The aim is to reveal the heterogeneous structure of the living situation of the elderly over the age of 65 living in İbradı district of Antalya province and to determine their advantageous and disadvantageous living situation profiles. To achieve this goal, the main goal determined within the scope of the research is to draw the profile of old age at the local level. Method: The population of the research consisted of the elderly in Turkey, and the sample consisted of 161 participants living in the İbardı district of Antalya. It is a field study conducted in the survey model, in which a multiple choice survey form with a total of 75 items was used in the research. SPSS 29 package program was used to analyze the data. Dimensions of the living situation in old age in the survey form; income, financial conditions, social relations, education and participation, health, social support network were examined within the framework of demographic information and life satisfaction. Results: A total of 161 elderly volunteers, 97 men and 64 women, participated in the study. Demographic data and living situation dimensions were analyzed, and the results were presented in 36 tables. As a result of the research, 67% of the participants stated that they were satisfied with their lives, while 12% were dissatisfied. No statistically significant relationship was found between the level of life satisfaction and the life expectancy they wish to live. It was determined that there were no significant relationships between life satisfaction and age, gender and marital status. A high level of statistical relationship was determined between the participants' education levels and health conditions. Conclusion: When the literature is reviewed, this study is the first field study in which all aspects of the local living situation are investigated.
