Abstract (EN)
In this study, the heavy metal (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Pb, Ni and Zn) accumulation in muscles and livers of Pagellus erythrinus, Pagellus acarne, Diplodus annularis, Sphyraena chrysotaenia, Upeneus moluccensis, Pomadasys incusus, Merluccius merluccius, Serranus cabrilla, Mullus barbatus, Pagrus caeruleostictus from the the Antalya Gulf have been searched. Heavy metal levels in fish muscles in ppm were Cd: 0.03-0.09, Co:<0,01-0,11, Cr: 0,33-0,80, Cu: 0.19-0.94, Mn: 0,10-1,83, Ni: 0,03-3.91, Pb: 0.04-0.38, Zn: 3,68-13,1; livers; Cd: 0.03-0.27, Co: 0.07-0.75, Cr: 0,36-0,82, Cu: 1.12-26,7, Mn: 0,77-9,91, Ni: 0.07-9.02, Pb: 0.13-0.87, Zn: 18,2-146. The levels of heavy metals were higher in livers than these in muscles. When the edible tissues of muscles of analysed fishes are searched, it might be said that muscles of these fishes when eaten by human does not generate a risk healthily.
