Evalution of construction technologies and architectural features of Antalya battery factory campus

In the 1960s, production facilities were established in various regions of Turkey by the Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) to address industrial deficiencies. One of these, the MKE Antalya Battery Factory Campus, was founded in Antalya in 1974. During a period when many buildings from the Republican Era were demolished or lost their original characteristics, the Antalya Battery Factory Campus stands out as a noteworthy example of innovation. It is a space where modern architecture is realized at an urban level, serving as a center where all the needs of the workers are met. Additionally, the campus, designed as a settlement that adapts to the restructured production and consumption relationships, includes contemporary social areas. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the architectural features of the Antalya Battery Factory Campus and evaluate the construction technologies of its era. The case study method was used as the research method, with investigations conducted in the State Archives and the Machinery and Chemical Industry Archives. It is expected that the results of this study will contribute to the literature by documenting the architectural and structural features of the Antalya Battery Factory Campus, which is no longer in operation today.
