Abstract (EN)
The scope of this master's thesis consists of the Greek vases which are described with komasts dated between 7th century BC and 5th century BC. Based upon those vases, the phenemenon of komos-komast and their significance on daily Greek life were focused on. In accordance with the literature review, the definitions of komos and komast were manifested and their link with comedy was discussed. The images of the vases which were assessed on the basis of the black and red figüre techniques were analyzed by dividing into the areas where they were detected. Thus, the iconographic process that komast figüres performed as well as the boundaries of the geography in which those figures spread has been specified.
