Gender discrimination and conflict between men and women in ancient societies in the light of ancient and classical sources

As it is known, the conflict between men and wowen, which started with the creation of Adam and Eve, continues today. However, in this study, we tried to determine the root of the problems experienced today by dealing with sexual discrimination and the conflict between men and women in ancient societies in the light of ancient and classical sources. Basically, our thesis consists of three main parts. In the introduction part, a brief evaluation has been made on the concept of Ancient Age and the sources of this period. In the first part, besides the ancient and classical sources, the creation of the universe and human beings in the holy books and in connection with this, the perspective of men and women are discussed. In the second part, after the political and social histories of the important societies that had a share in the Ancient Eastern Civilization were briefly revealed, the male-female relations in the mentioned societies were tried to be revealed in the light of the sources. In the third and last part of our thesis, the relations between men and women in the Ancient Western societies are discussed in detail. We believe that this study will set an example for similar studies to be carried out in the future. Keywords: Ancient East, Ancient West, woman, man, woman-man conflict
