Abstract (EN)
Egyptian paste, whose discovery dates back to 5000 BC, is a quartz-dominated, usually blue colored, self-glazed ceramic body. The first place of production is known to be Egypt; and due to its geographical location; it is found in and around the region bordering the East Mediterranean Sea. Since it is best developed in Egypt, it takes its name from the region. For this reason, the historical development of corn paste is discussed within the scope of this thesis by limiting it to the Egyptian region. As a result of the archaeological excavations in the region, different qualities of corn cake were found from the tombs andit was found that it was used in all areas of life during the Ancient Egyptian period. Their versatile use led to the realization of many productions and the discovery of different forms of production. In the present day, different technological data have been obtained as a result of research on ancient finds. Within the scope of the thesis, corn cake terminology was examined and corn cake technology was investigated from the Ancient Egyptian period to the present day and applications were made in the light of the data obtained. In the applications section of the thesis, the first recipes were created and shaped using free, mold methods and decor applications were made using brush, inlay and relief decor methods. After all the applications, shaping and decor techniques were combined and used in sculpture applications. Within the scope of the applications, all positive and negative data were evaluated and documented. As a result, in the drying phase of the recipe trials, corn paste bodies were obtained by forming glaze on the surface with the flowering method and developing at 930 oC temperature. The mud prepared with the recipes that constitute the main purpose of the thesis applications has been developed in a quality that allows large-scale sculpture works and positive results have been achieved.
