Abstract (EN)

Purpose: Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) is a disorder causes a number of problems both in social life and law, especially specified with lack of remorse, tendency the criminal acts and abuse the rights of others. In its etiology it is explained with negative family behaviors, growing up with lack of interest and discipline, violence in family and addition to these environmental reasons it is accepted that genetically susceptibility has a role in ASPD. In this research it is aimed to compare Dopamine Receptor D4 (DRD4) polymorphism which is thought that it can have a role in the etiology of ASPD with novelty seeking (NS) as a related personality character in healthy controls.Material and Method: The research is 50 male patients between 18-45 who were diagnosed as ASPD in DSM-IV diagnostic criteria were taken in to research. The diagnosis of all the participants diagnosed by semi structured interview and the Turkish version of DSM-3R SCID. As a data collector device socio demographic database and the Turkish adopted version Cloninger?s temperament and character inventory (TCI) were used. After completing the patient group 50 male participants were taken in to the research as a control group who has same socio demographic character. DRD4 -521C/T substation was searched in the blood samples.Findings: The average age found 23.9 in the all participant, 22.6 in ASPD and 25.1 in healthy controls. The education level, the percentage of working in a regular work and material gains healthy control is significantly higher than the levels of ASPD group. In ASPD group growing up with lack of interest and discipline, receiving physical violence, psychiciatryic disorders in family, growing up in divorced or divided family, long term separation from mother was found higher compared the controls. No significant differences were found in allel and genotype frequencies between both groups. NS points in ASPD were found higher than controls. Any relation between NS points and -521C/T polymorphism in all groups. A significant relation between high ?fear of uncertainty? point and -521 C allel was determined. Conclusion: The results our research supports that NS is significantly higher in ASPD compared to healthy control. It shows that our research no findings between 521 C/T SNP and NS show that genetically factors can be effective in personality development ethnic differences can determined this effects.
