Abstract (EN)

In every language spoken in the world, there are sentences that become idioms and proverbs. These sentences, which are formed as a result of experience and experience over time and are used and stereotyped by all segments of society, increase the expressive power of the language and expand the possibility of use. Undoubtedly, proverbs are wise and clear words that reflect the culture, customs and lifestyles of the nation to which they belong. With proverbs, abstract issues and concepts are made concrete and animated in the mind of the interlocutor. By using proverbs and idioms, an event that can be described in a paragraph can be explained only in a single sentence. In fact, a good orator can make his speech more effective and sweet by using the literary arts in parables. On the other hand, the cultural exchange between Turks and Arabs is also reflected in parables. With the translation of Arabic works into Turkish, Turks became acquainted with Arabic proverbs. As a result of this cultural interaction, some of the Arabic proverbs are similar to Turkish proverbs only in terms of meaning, while others are similar in terms of both meaning and wording. In this study, Arabic literature will be briefly mentioned and Arabic proverbs will be explained, and proverbs that are similar in meaning and words to Turkish proverbs will be identified and revealed. The stories of the proverbs that cannot be understood at first glance will be conveyed and the similarities and differences between them will be discussed.
