Arab Spring and Syria

Starting from the Middle East region in Tunisia and spreading to the whole geographic places, the Arab Spring has processed a different position in Syria. The actions which caused the rejime to change in every country it arrived or the reforms made by them became a failure and a civil war began in Syria. In this research, the reasons why the Arab spring took a long time in Syria and the reasons why the Assad regime has not changed were discussed. The study consists of three parts except introduction and conclusion. In the first part, the historical and the socio-economic structures were studied carefully. In this part, in which the historical process and the demographical structure of the country were addressed, it was aimed to provide an insight to the current events and give general information about Syria. In the second part, the Syria policy of the countries which have a voice in Syria was examined. In this part, the countries which have the most connection with Syria today and their historical relationship as well as the Syria politics in the process of the Arap spring were discussed. In the third part, predictions were made about the future of Syria after examining the beginning and the extension of the Arap spring. From the beginning of the Arap spring until now, its strategy and the Syria aspect, the most complicated part of the process was explained. In conclusion, this research emphasizes how this process will be completed and its effects on the Middle East.
