Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, we have tried to examine what kind of functions ''Literal Clues'' has and determine its meaning. In addition to that, we have tried to evaluate the effect and role of the Theory of Clues in determining the meaning of sentence in Arabic language by practising it with the meaning of sentence and verses. In the introduction part, detailed explanation on the concept of language, which is the main tool of communication, were given and it was emphasised that language is the most basic abilities of man. In the first chapter, the elements that form ''Language'' on the axis of ''Clue-Content Relationship'' were examined in detail; word and sentence under the title of ''Clue''and Lexical, Functional/Grammatical and Contextual types of meaning under the title of ''Content''. In the meantime we tried to explain how signification of clue on content occurs within the context of signification types. In the second chapter, we have mentioned ''The Copceptual Meaning of Clues''and also its term meaning. Again, under this title, we have tried to explain the other notions that are related to Clues in form of subtitles. In the third chapter, we have tried to explain the types of Clues in line with Temam Hassan's perspective on this topic, under the title of Verbal Clues in Arabic Language. We have studied the subject in detail, by explaining the Literal Clues that are related to our topic, from The Types of Clues. We have tried to express the role and decisiveness of Verbal Clues on determining meaning through sentences and verses
