The use of stone bridges as an architectural structure in Arapgir region as a plastic value

Culture, which is the accumulation of material and spiritual experiences transferred from generation to generation, was created by societies in a historical process and formed the identity of societies. The traditional social structures and cultural accumulation of Anatolian societies have been significantly effective in the creation of cultural assets in the region. Arapgir district of Malatya is one of these regions. There are many historical buildings in the region. The fact that Arapgir is on the historical Silk Road has been effective in the region carrying the traces of many civilizations. Although there are predominantly cultural traces of the Turkish society, it is also possible to see traces of non-Turkish culture in the architectural elements in this region. Especially in the construction features of the stone bridges in the Arapgir region, there are similarities with the works of the Seljuk period and pre-Islamization architectural features. It has been seen that the use of very different and diverse artistic activities occurs in these cultural architectural elements. It is seen that these structures, which are a cultural architecture in the history of Turkish painting and art, contain many riches, and at the same time, the elements that have value for the society are reflected with pleasant features and style in the art of imagination. Different artistic works have been created by using stone bridges as an architectural structure in the Arapgir region as a plastic value in painting. In this master's thesis study, especially the stone bridges in Arapgir were discussed. In the region where there are many historical stone bridges, drawings for plastic painting were limited to twelve works. As a result of the literature review, it was decided which studies would be carried out. The necessary information for the thesis was obtained by conducting the necessary research on many theses, articles and magazines related to the subject.
