Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to identify potential hazards and risks in the working environment of the beekeeping sector and to propose necessary measures to prevent occupational accidents and diseases. Occupational health and safety risk factors have been classified separately as physical, chemical, ergonomic, biological, psychosocial, and other relevant risks, aiming to identify existing problems and propose a solution-oriented approach. The hazards and risks identified in the field study are categorized as follows: 10 physical risk factors, 6 chemical risk factors, 4 ergonomic risk factors, 2 biological risk factors, 1 psychosocial risk factor, and 2 other relevant risk factors, totaling 26, which are presented in tabular format. The L-Type Decision Matrix and Fine-Kinney risk assessment method were used to determine the mathematical value and risk classifications. As a case study, Taşlıca Hamlet in Pınarca Village, located in the central district of Hakkari Province, was selected as the application area. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews and in-depth discussions with some beekeepers in Hakkari, and on-site observations were conducted. Based on the findings, recommendations were provided regarding the occupational health and safety measures that should be considered in the beekeeping sector.
