Özet (EN)

The concept of modernization means at the same time the process of secularization and rationalization. Western society and other societies began to secularize, in modern age, both in economic sectors and in political institutions being independent from religious and moral principles. The main aim become success and profit maximization in modern economy and rational administration in political organization. Aristotle emphasized that alone economic wealth, knowledge and technology couldn't produce happiness to human being. The source of happiness is virtue according to Aristotle. Islamic civilization also gave a central role to happiness in daily life without sacrifice virtue to economic development and wealth. Muslim scholars, like Kınalı Zade, tried to produce virtues men, virtues city and virtues state. Modern economic thought is generally based on a model in which the social and the moral values are excluded. They largely regard only profit maximization and cost minimization, namely utility. This inclination has created many pathologies in society. There are many principles in Aristotle's and Kınalı Zade's business ethics to resolve modern pathologies.
