Abstract (EN)

In the context of Aristotle's ethics and Kinalizade Ali's ethics, This work aims to argue the possibility of living for common moral values and the extent of Aristotle's influence on Islamic ethics. In this regard, this study investigates Aristotle's ethics and Kinalizade's ethics in three main points: (i) Individual ethics. (ii) Family ethics. (iii) Ethics of the state/Political philosophy. My thesis which includes these main points is divided to three chapters. Taking these points at the center, the first chapter of my thesis discusses Aristotle's ethics and the second chapter of my thesis discussed Kinalizade's ethics. And, the third chapter of my thesis compares the ethics of both philosophers especially in the areas in which the influence of Aristotle is clearly noticeable. As a result, despite the fact that Aristotle and Kinalizade live in different eras and there are highly religious and cultural differences between them, the similarity of their ethics is clearly observable in many points. It was concluded that this similarity should be explained as we can reach common moral values, not just as Aristotle influence. Key Points: Ethics, Aristotle, Kinalizade Ali, Justice, Family, State, Politics.
