Abstract (EN)
In this study, effect of different nickel (3, 7, 11) and chromium (0,1, 0,3, 0,5) coating thicknesses on corrosion resistant was investigated by using an industrial faucet electroplating process parameters and bath solutions. The coatings were characterised in terms of surface morphology and composition, wettability and corrosion resistance by using respectively, SEM/EDX, contact angle measurement and EIS methods. Defects on coated surface was elimanated by increasing the nickel thickness, Consequently, it was seen that nickel is more effective on corrosion resistance than chromium. Also, the best corrosion resistance was determined with 11µm Ni, 0,5µm Cr coated sample. The contact angle measurements showed that, there is no relation between coating thicknesses and surface wettability. The grinding and polishing operations have remarkeble efect on surface wettability.
