Abstract (EN)

This thesis includes a formal and theoretical evaluation of the female image in Art Nouveau poster art. The study focuses on the iconography of the female figure in Art Nouveau posters, especially posters used for advertising purposes in art exhibitions, and how women are depicted in interaction with works of art and precious objects. This analysis is grounded in the artistic context, considering the emergence of the use of the female figure in the 19th-century art world. By analyzing the depictions of women in Art Nouveau posters, the thesis aims to reveal the roles, symbols, and messages conveyed through the female image in Art Nouveau poster art and to shed light on the cultural, social, and artistic influences that shape these representations. Within this framework, the thesis initially provides comprehensive information on Art Nouveau and then elaborates by incorporating the female image. The examples are analyzed concerning the leading artists of the movement in question. Finally, the thesis is evaluated as a whole and concluded.
