Investigation of using the granite purufication mud in asphalt concrete as filler material

A lot problems has been occurred such as environmental pollution, because of the storing and discharge of variety of waste products on the nature for the our developing and day to day crowded world. Wastes can be used to manufacture new products or additive materials in available products. Because of the using waste material and by-products, both using natural materials are decreased so prevent the destruction of nature and problems due to waste materials are minimized. So, waste materials should be recycle.In this study using of granite purufication muds of İzmir ÇİMSTONE fabricate with besed on quartz were invetstigated in hot mix asphalt pavements. The waste materials were dry and milled and sieved from the number 200 sieve thus into filler materials. Marshall samples were preapered with using the filler materials. Five differenet, wearing course hot mix asphalt designs were performed with using different filler rate as %, 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 respectively. Marshall stability and flow tets were performed on the samples and also Mechanical Marshall Immertion tests were performed on the samples that was produced with optimum bitumen rate. The results show that the granite purification mud can be used in asphalt concrete as filler materials.
