Abstract (EN)

The subject of this research is to examine the types of polymer modification and modification conditions in asphalt pavements. In this context, polymer materials commonly used in the modification process are elastomers, plastomers, fibers and engineered rubbers. SBS and EVA polymers are more widely used than other polymers. Recent developments have brought ECR to the forefront and it is added to the bituminous binder by the wet method. The general parameters for modification of polymers are as follows: additive rate 2-6%, bitumen class 50/70, mixing temperature 180°C, mixing speed 500-5000 rpm, duration 30-120 minutes. Especially in today's conditions, the use of multiple modification types together has become widespread in order to increase the performance that decreases with the presence of increasing traffic loads and the development of refinery technologies. In this sense, additive combinations that work together with polymers such as SBS and rejuvenators, SBS and hydrated lime have started to come to the agenda intensively, and it is understood that the use of different types of additives together will become widespread in the future.
