Evaluation of information technologies based commercial banking operations in terms of SME's as a decreasing application of asymmetric information and a field research in Kutahya

Banks, the most weighted financial intermediary of the financial system, fulfill themost important function between the ones who supply funds and the ones who demandthem by performing the flow of funds. The most important customer group of the banksis businesses. While considering the facts of 99% of the businesses are SME in Turkey,diversifying the SME-oriented products and services by the banks, and benefitingadequately by the SMEs is critically important. For this reason, some banks reservespecial place for being financial solution partner and supplying all financialrequirements for SMEs that faced with limited financial possibilities and high resourcecost in the commercial banking activities and they have programmed their activitiesunder the name of `?SME Banking??.Developments in the knowledge and communications influenced banking sectorconsiderably like all sectors. Banks have started to present their products and servicesvia knowledge technologies based distributing channels for taking the advantages ofknowledge technologies. While considering the reducing effect of using the asymmetricinformation based problems, the name of new era has been electronic banking. It has agreat value as reducing the asymmetric information problem as orienting to thesetechnologies and using them efficiently by the customers especially SMEs by presentingthe products and the services via knowledge technology based distributing channels ofcommercial banks. But at the end of the research it has seen that there are importantproblems for SMEs for orienting to developing technologies and using them and for thisreason reducing effect of asymmetric information problem of knowledge technologiescouldn?t develop in the desired way.
