He life, art and storytelling of the Aşık Feymani

Stories are one of the most important literary medium which carries the culture a nation to next generation. Centuries ago, many stories, which were kept alive in the oral tradition, have survived to the present day, leaving traces in people's lives. The Dede Korkut Stories of the Turkish nation are the most important among these stories. The stories reflect the life, traditions and customs of a society. The stories in this study were compiled and told by Feymani. These stories are folk tales. It reflects the culture and language of the people of Çukurova. The stories are taken from the Minstrel Feymani through semi structured interviews. It has been compiled and recorded orally and in writing. The stories which he told is existing in oral tradition. In this study, the researcher aimed to keep Feymani's story alive by giving it a written shape. The research consist of seven sections. First section is the introduction about the tradition of minstrelsy. Second, Feymani's life, Third, Feymani's place in the tradition of minstrelsy. The fourth Section has information about the art of the minstrel, fifth, Feymani's storytelling, In sixth, Feymani's storytelling according to Performance Theory has been examined. Last section included 24 Stories. This research is carried out by compilation method in order to transfer the tradition to future generations and to contribute to Turkish culture.
