Values of education in folk tales compiled from Aşık Şeref Taşlıova

It is obvious that, their values come first while directing the behavior of people. All nations desire to maintain the integrity of the members and promote the unity and solidarity. While ensuring the unity; social beliefs, customs, traditions and customs of the nations in short; all the common formats of products which belong to that nation takes an integrative role. In this context, nations like to transfer these values to their grown up individuals. It is undeniable that the individuals who have the values like morality, peace, humility, honesty, sharing, faithfulness and generosity will transform into individuals who have a strong self-regulation, who are able to do analysis and synthesis, who can affect the society and who have solid characters. Changes, in recent terms of our age, reveals the importance of the education; especially the importance of the education of values. Values firstly come up in the literary compositions.The author might directly present the concept of values that he or she desires to highlight as well as he could make emotional references to readers? world of perception. Şeref Taşlıova, who is one of the living minstrels today, tried to introduce the values he wanted to emphasise apparently. As someone who defines himself living with the perception of `ehli sünnet ve?l-cemaat`, Âşık Şeref Taşlıova more frequently included religious and sufistic values in his folk stories. Şeref Taşlıova who widely made a place for all the values that must exist in society in the folk stories he told and compiled, emphasised values such as unity and solidarity and love of soil and flag by synthesizing them with religious and sufistic themes. In this study, themes that belong to education of values have been determined and evaluated in folk stories compiled from the works of Âşık Şeref Taşlıova who might be considered as the one who is able to tell folk stories best among all the minstrels. The study exists of four sections. Firstly, the scales of scientific research have been determined.In the second section, the definitions about the study have been defined. The life, art and works of Âşık Şeref Taşlıova, UNESCO living human treasures honorary doctorate, have been examined. In the third section concepts such as values, education, education of values have been explained and themes related to education of values in folk stories compiled from the works of Âşık Şeref Taşlıova, have been classified under four titles concerning their subjects as: Moral, social, religious, sufistic, educational, and cultural values. In the final section of the study, an evaluation was made based upon the findings. The ideal individual model that Şeref Taşlıova illustrated, has been tried to be signified.Furthermore, in this study; through the sampling of Âşık Şeref Taşlıova, the conributions of the minstrels to the values of education, benefitting from the minstrels on the activities of values of education and such the subjects as reading the folk stories from the perspective of values of education ; have been tried to be mentioned. Data which was gathered related to topic of Education of Values and documents which were acquired, has been analyzed and illüstrated in tables.The local words and expressions that are identified in the text which is in the extent of the study, described in the form of a dictionary.In addition, on the date of 15.02.2013, his thoughts about value, education of value, the contributions of the minstrels to the education of values have been recieved by having an interview with him.The interview has been presented in the appendices of the study.Datas which were recorded as a result of the study, have been evaluated ,both in the study and in the section of conclusions and suggestions.By taking the opinions of the Great Minstrel, thinking that it would be beneficial ;some photograps from his family album have been placed to the end of the study.The study have been ended with the section of bibliography.
