Abstract (EN)

This thesis study is carried out on mortar und plaster materials that are used at ancien structures in ancient city of Aspendos, located in the province of Antalya. These Ancient Structures are from historical Periods of Roman, Helenistisch period of Anatolia. During this study various mortar and plaster samples were collected from the Fountain Structure, Roman Basilica and Domus Structure in Aspendos and on these construction materials are mineralogical (X-ray diffraction (XRD)), petrographical (Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy/energydispersive x-ray spectrometers (SEM/EDX)), Thermal analysis, Physical (unit weight, specific weight, water absorption, porosity, compacity), Chemical (acid loss and sieve analysis, analyses of the water soluble salts, pH and conductivity measurements, protein and fat analyses, analysis of pozzolanic activity), colour analysis and mechanical (compressive test) experiments performed. Data obtained from these tests reveal their characteristic properties like mineralogical composition, physical properties, resistance, texture, morphology and classification of specimens. From the results of the experiments, it is tried to understand the reason, how these structural members survived till today. KEYWORDS:
