Abstract (EN)

A new behavior called "binge-watching" has developed due to the availability to reaching TV series and movies. In this study, the relationship between the viewing behaviors of the participants and their psychological well-being, the total score they got from the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI), the scores they got from the BSI anxiety and depression sub-dimensions, and their use of humor were examined. 71.8% female (178) and 28.2% (70) male participants aged between 18 and 65 participated in the study. The results of the study revealed that the participants' excessive watching behaviors were BSI total score BSI (Total): (r=.354**; p<.05) and BSI-depression: (r=.355**; p<.05) and BSI- anxiety (r=.352**; p<.05); level of psychological well-being (r=-.262**; p<.05) and age (r=-.516**; p<.05)] were also found to be negatively and significantly correlated. According to the hierarchical regression analysis performed to understand the predictive effect of variables on watching behavior, although the models were found to be significant, it was concluded that age and participant humor types significantly predicted excessive watching behavior (F=14.424**; p<.01).
