Abstract (EN)

Modernization, defined as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's "reaching the level of the civilized civilizations" with the declaration of the Republic on October 29, 1923, was also aimed at mental and cultural change in the Turkish society. Changes in social structures have also affected the position of Turkish women in society, which is the main factor shaping the society. We use English newspaper in our savage. It will be tried to show how to structural change of the Turkish women in the modernization process was perceived by the British Press. In this study; document analysis, one of the qualitative research methots, was used and some English newspapers of the Republican were examined. As a result; the development of Turkish women in the British Press is defined as Westernization; it was seen that British policy was effective in understanding Türkish Women of the period.
