Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is to show the reflections of economic develpoment initiatives, undertaken by Turkey, on Giresun and clarify the economic change that Giresun underwent by referring to the years prior to 1923. The first years of the Republic was the period of the beginning of recovery and rapid development process in Turkey. Since Turkey was an agricultural country, the country initially tried to recover the manufacturer, then attempted to improve industrialization. Thanks to applied economic moves, Turkey began to produce wheat, sugar, cement, fabric itself. Although not paticipated in World War II, Turkey experienced the effects of the war and had economic crisis, during of İnönü. The economic policy performed at that period intended to minimize the negative effects of the war.During the period of Atatürk the importence is given to mobilization of reconstruction and cooperating of the nuts that is the main source of living for local people. During the period of İnönü, agricultural campaign was launched to replace crop as an alternate to nut in Giresun. Despite all the government incentives, an alternate crop could not place in Giresun, and the industry, except for he small investments, remained limited with cultivation of nuts. As a result of this research, it is seen that the economic growth rate of Giresun was quite low and the people were in financial troublePrepeared by general to specigic order and chronologically, it is particulary benefited from Prime Minister of the Republic archive documents, local resources and supported by statistical information in this research.
