Investigation of the usability of waste newsprint paper fibers in biocomposite production

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the usability of polylactic acid (PLA) and waste newspaper fiber (AGKL) was investigated. It has been examined in terms of mechanical, thermal and optical properties and compared with other thermoplastics. When the bending strength results of plastic composites were examined, it was determined that the rate of waste newspaper fiber decreased the bending strength. Elasticity modulus values of plastic composites in bending increase with the amount of fiber added to the medium. The addition of filler in the tensile strength decreased. Thermal resistance was further decreased with the added waste newspaper. When the results of the DSC analysis were examined, it was found that the glassy transition temperature of the waste newspaper fiber decreased one degree and slowed the cooling. Optical properties. While PLA is a permeable material, the permeability decreased with the addition of fiber. Therefore, the SO brightness decreased from 55% to 5.15% compared to the control with the addition of 10% fiber, and the brightness increased to 6.07% by increasing the ratio to 30%. As a result, it has been determined that using PLA and waste newsprint together has positive effects. It has been observed that waste newsprint and PLA are two organic components that are much more compatible with each other than other thermoplastic compounds and that they are easily degradable in nature, increasing the value of these composites.
