Abstract (EN)
USING WASTE MARBLES WITHIN THE ASPHALT PAVEMENTS ABSTRACT Because of continuously increasing of the world population, consumption trend and rapidly decreasing of raw material resources, the scientists question how existing resource can be used more economically ? In many countries, both private and puplic sectors have arranged diciplines. So, in the near future, the most important research subject will be the optimization of recycling of the resources Construction industry leads the first position in point of necessity of raw materials and amount of waste. Particularly in marble industry,in average between 40 % and 60 % of marble blocks is wasted during the production process in quarries. 86000 m3 waste marble is created in marble quarry industry in Afyon region, alone. In this study, quarries in Afyon region occured waste that used raw material of aggregate and possible usage of asphalt pavements binder courses was investigated. Minerological-petrographical research, aggregate tests and hot mix asphalt tests were done to the aggregate which is produced from waste of marble and andesite quaary (A-B) and two diffrent control aggregate specimens(C-D) and results compared between A-B and C-D. As a result, the aggregates produced in the waste of marble quarry could be used in recycling in light or medium traficced asphalt pavements binder courses. This diminish a huge amount of economical and eniviromental consumption. Key Words: Marble, Waste, Aggregate, Hot mix asphalt. 11
