Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the potential of obtaining silver nanoparticles using an environmentally friendly green synthesis technique within the scope of sustainability. For this purpose, natural waste products were used as precursor, and the antimicrobial activity of the obtained nanoparticles was determined. Sustainability is important for future ecology, and the increased waste in recent years has negatively affected sustainability. Waste management and utilization in the field of technology can be a solution for sustainability. Nanotechnology is an emerging technology that improves the physical, chemical and biological properties of substances. 1-100 nm in size. Different methods, such as physical, biological and chemical methods, can synthesize nanoparticles. The green synthesis (biological synthesis) method is the most preferred method compared to chemical and physical methods because it is environmentally friendly, energy-saving, cheaper, produces less waste, is easy to scale up, and is sustainable and biologically compatible. Walnut has different parts, such as leaves, dry and green fruit, inner/outer shell and inner membrane. The inner and outer shells are not used as food and are waste. First, the waste walnut inner membrane was extracted and then used as electron donor to synthesize silver nanoparticles. AgNPs were synthesized using the green synthesis technique and then characterized, and the antimicrobial activity of AgNPs was determined. It was observed that AgNPs gave maximum absorbance at 460nm with a size of 46-51nm and had good antimicrobial activity. It is clear from the data obtained that plant-based wastes have the potential to be used in nanotechnology and can be used in a wide range of fields, from agriculture to medicine.
