In this thesis, adsorption of ammonia ions on the bentonite minerals and charged bentonite minerals? removal with flotation technique from aqueous media were investigated.In this study, adsorption methods have been used for ammonia removal and from different parts of Turkey as adsorbent obtained was used as bentonite all in aggregate raw and concentrate. The synthetic ammonia salt (NH4Cl) is used as adsorbate. Adsorption studies, after determination adsorbent/solid ratio consists of works as starting ammonia and time. NH4+ adsorption determination on bentonite made by selective electrodes method and optimum conditions were determined. Adsorption experiments results for concentration Langmuir, Freundlich isotherms were applied and interpreted. Adsorption kinetics was determined by pseudo-second model and correlation coefficients which obtained from model are close to 1 proves that compatibility of adsorption to the model. At the end of the works that carried out adsorption was rapid and was observed that reached equilibrium in 60 min. Adsorbing capacity in the lowest example 18.02%,in the highest example 97.36% were determined, RT, RK, CGT, CST, ST, CGK, CSK, and SK to correct low to high ranking was achieved.After adsorption studies, removal of the charged bentonite samples from solutions is achieved by dissolved air flotation(DAF) technique and flotation kinetics were researched in detail as reactive and non-reactive. Silivri concentrate bentonits? which has the highest adsorbing capacity is obtained %75 flotation recovery without collector in 30 seconds average, in presence of 10-5 M G-TAP is obtained %100 flotation recovery in 30 seconds and turbidity was determined 12.8 NTU. These results prove that Turkish bentonites are available for removal of ammonia ion from waste water.
