Examining social skills levels of horseman jerreed sportmen for different variables

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is research the social skills level of horseman jereed sportsmen in Turkey. 330 horseman attended jereed sportsmen to the study from different cities of Turkey. For measuring to social skills level of horseman jereed sportsmen the Riggio?s Social Skills Inventory (SSI) which was improved in 1986 was used. It is a 90 item-inventory and based on self description and it was translated and adapted to Turkish by Galip Yüksel in 1993.After completing individual information forms, the data gained from SSI was analyzed and evaluated. For six sub-dimensions of the inventory and total points arithmetic mean, minimum and maximum points, standard deviation and ranges were calculated in the scope descriptive statistics. In the study, to determine the level statistically significant difference between parameters prescribed in information forms namely; age, socio economic level, education, marital status of sportsmen and social skills levels of them independent group t-test and one-way variance analyses (ANOVA) methods are used.At the end of the study, it was seen that jereed sportsmen have middle level social level both in general social levels and its? sub-dimension categories. Additionally singles have higher social skills level than married sportsmen. It was seen the same pattern between in higher education - lover level, higher socioeconomic level - lover socioeconomic levels. Sportsmen older than 42 and younger than 21 have higher social skills level than other age groups.Key words: Horseman Jereed, Social Skills, Traditional Sports
