Folklore elements in the novels and remembers of Attilâ İlhan

The folk culture forms the main character of a nation. Attila Ġlhan is the one of the most important writer who reflects the values of the nation which he belongs. We have examined in this work that; how do Attila Ġlhan, who uses the folk culture and the folk living in his works and one of the biggest name of the Turkish Literature, use the factors of the folklore in his novels and memories. We have examined Attila Ġlhan‟s works in accordance with folk literature and folklore. We gave informations about the writers life in first chapter. We have examined the factors of the folk literature and the forms of using of those factors in the writer‟s works in second chapter. We have examined the factors of the folklore and their usings in his works in third chapter. We have categorised the whole factors which we have found in his works in accordance with the scientific methods. At the works we have examined, the passages about the factor of the folklore have been given by the page numbers. In the end we have seen that Attila Ġlhan has examined with his writer identity, the periods that Turk has lived, geography and folklore in his works. Keywords: Attilâ Ġlhan, Folklore, Folk Literature
