Fantastic in European print

Fantastic has been a genre that has attracted attention in almost every field for centuries and thus attracted great attention. Fantastic, which has an impact on many branches of art, especially painting, cinema, literature, theater, music and architecture, has drawn a thin border between reality and dream. Depending on the interpretations of the artists, this limit has sometimes been exceeded and at other times has been made invisible. Names such as Hieronymus Bosch and Sandro Botticelli are among the first artists of fantastic paintings, whose first examples began to be seen in Renaissance art in the 15th century. Fantastic art, which became widespread until the Symbolism period, paved the way for the development of Surrealism and Dadaism art movements. Fantastic Realism, which entered the art literature after the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism was founded by a group of artists, continues to exert its influence in a more comprehensive way as of the 20th century. The effects of fantastic on European printmaking began centuries ago and have been felt all over the world, thus continuing to this day. Today, the value of the fantastic in European art and European printmaking in particular has reached undeniable levels. In our research, these issues were discussed in detail and supported with examples.
