Sustinable urbanisation in the European Union: Reflections to Turkey

According to Our Common Future Report which is published by United Nations Commission on Environment and Development, "humanity has the ability to make Development Sustainable to ensure that it meets the need of the present without compromising the ability of Future generations to meet their own needs" described of Sustainable development in 1987. As it seen from this defination of Sustainable Development referenced to Sustainable urbanization. Stil ongoing formation process, defination and meaning of Sustainable Development which is important to measuring the level of Development and environment protection policies. The term of Sustainable Development had rapidly increasing with urbanization and Sustainable Development and Have played a major role in the formation and Development or urban policies especially since 1970's. The term of Sustainable urban Development have importance Future of mankind which is based on United Nations and European Union. The term of Sustainable urban Development began to rise rapidly with European Union in 1990's. Sustainable urban Development had described and identified principles and necessary conditions which is important to reaching Sustainable urban Areas under favour of rising urbanization. This paper had been building based on lumping works and policies which is in European Union, United Union and Turkey. Aim of this paper, bringing together to all policies and datas about Sustainable urban develeopment and bring light to Future academic studies. Altough all Sustainable urbanization policies and examples, still there is insufficient results in the European Union but results are hopeful. In our country begins to sustainable urban development and it is emerging phenomenon is not well known, so we make no progress about Sustainable urbanization.
