Sentenced and unsentenced prisoners' right to contact with the outside world in the context of the European Human Rights Law

The subject of this thesis titled "Sentenced and Unsentenced Prisoners' Right to Contact with the Outside World in the context of European Human Rights Law" is to examine sentenced and unsentenced prisoners' possibilities of and right to contact with the outside world in member states to the Council of Europe. In this context, the two main Conventions produced by the Council and the judicial and non-judicial control mechanisms established by these Conventions and the activities of the Council organs are the starting points. The aim of the study is to reveal the effectiveness of the Council in the construction of a common European prison policy in the member states. In study, with the numerous international conventions, soft law documents, the ECHR case law, European Committee for the Prevention of Torture reports and lastly developments in Turkish law, an effort will be made to reach a conclusion.
