Right to private life and Its protection in European Convention on Human Rights

In twenty-first century which is being called The Era of Human Rights, the right to private life has come into prominence for law of nations as well as national law and there has been struggle to advance protection mechanisms for right to private life. The right to private life and protecting the privacy of individual and family life, home and correspondence of individual against arbitrary interference is a kind of right which assures keeping individual choices and chosen ways of life away from interfering.About the right to private life and its protection, this study aims; to reveal the scope of this right, to determine in what way it is being protected in international human rights law, to explore in which circumstances the violations appear and to make it contestable how it can be possible to minimize these violations. In this study firstly, the human rights law and its basic concepts are appraised and afterwards definition of the private life and privacy is made so that the praxis of this subject matter can be transpired with the deductive method. Afterwards the right of the private life and the protection of personal life arranged in the article eight of the European Convention on Human Rights are to be analyzed based on the Convention and the conception of this right is to be tried to be investigated based upon the European Court of Human Rights decisions.
