Abstract (EN)
As a result of economic growth and population explosion demand for energy has increased dramatically. In recent years, geothermal energy has undoubtedly become one of the most favourite energy in Turkey as it is both renewable and locally available. Furthermore, the areas for using geothermal energy are increasing rapidly. Unfortunately, these common but wrong usages have trigged environmental pollution, because geothermal habits are not as harmless as they appear. The chemical contents that this sort of energy holds endanger firstly the water, then the soil and finally the plants. The aim of this research is the determination the level of heavy metals in soil and fruit samples grown in Aydin area that is endangered by the geothermal fluids. For this research aimed to study soil samples were selected from nine different locations and the fruit stations were selected from five locations. These stations are the geothermal facilities that are vulnerable to pollution. Additionally, during this research various stations are determined, the samples of soils and fruits are taken three times periodically and the analyses of the main pollution parameters are fulfilled. For this purpose, tha sample's parameters such as moisture, pH and conductivity are examined and then the analsis of various elements (B, Cd2+, Cr3+, Pb2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Al3+, Mn2+, Fe3+) are done with AAS. According to the results pH, salinity and boron values were determined very high around the geothermal facilities. Cd2+, Cr3 Mn2+, Cu2+ weren't determined for all the stations. Zn2+ were determined very high values except sixth station. Fe3+ and Al3+ concentration were determined high values for all the stations.
