Aydin province Çine county identifying data of Topçam irrigation area and quering by using the geographical information systems

The study area is situated on the right coast of Çine plain that is in Great Meandros river basin within Aydın City borders.The aim in this study is to digitize the 1/25000 scaled operation map in Çine-Topçam drainage basin and to transfer them into the digital medium and to provide more available database by making classifications such as agricultural areas, irrigation channels, service roads, land category, territory structure, flora of the area, borders of villages, watered or non-watered agriculture areas. The interrogation and analysis during this study leads to produce information for different aims. It is expected that the formed database will lead to the many of new projects for the irrigation association in this irrigation basin.At the end of the study, with the obtained geographical data structure and it?s geographical analysis, it appears that there is a need for a more detailed geographical information system for basin. This system should be formed under the name of Irrigation Basin Information system which should get easily and quickly by the users in that area and provide statistical output reports.Furthermore it is aimed in this study to use the water efficiency where the irrigation water is sufficient within the borders of the Çine-Topçam irrigation basin.The usage of water quantity, how the irrigation water could be used most efficiently, the irrigation rate, distribution of the flora and parcels dimension and to identify the reasons of non irrigated areas.
