A feminist criticism approach of Ayla Kutlu's works

Ayla Kutlu (1938-....) wrote many literature work as stories,child books,scripts starting with her first novel Kaçış and also she published an autobiography Zaman da Eskir (2006) containing her life between 1938-1960. She displayed the geography and time -firstly her own region- that were directed by patriarchate clearly. In her stories we face women having a sharp experiment of inequality because of their socioeconomical situation and taking place at the bottom level of patriarchal system as well in her novels we see other women who exist in public space thanks to their career, however exposing the violence of patriarchal system. In this context, Kutlu's work presents a chance to examine with the method of feminist criticisim. We think that the approach with a method of feminist criticisim to the work of Ayla Kutlu who is one of the most important author of Turkish literature -publishing from 1979 to nowadays- can lighten patriarchal system with its many sides, display the man check on woman body and sexisim, notice verbal and physcological violence that is ignored by physical and sexual violence, uncover the system that press the woman and nature, examine the factors that have a role of building womanhood and manhood in gender regime.
