Abstract (EN)

Folk songs, one of the basic elements of Turkish culture and one of the indispensable performance products of oral tradition, have taken place in every stage of the social, cultural and religious life of Turks from past to present. Most of the time, Turkish people expressed their inexpressible feelings through folk songs. They transferred their concerns to folk songs; they expressed joy, excitement, sadness, and pain and shared hidden secrets through folk songs. Folk songs have sometimes turned into lament with the pain of death or separation. Sometimes the silence of obedience to fate has been a powerful voice of rebellion against cruelty, injustice, disloyalty, desolation, and disrespect. In folk songs, human characteristics, heroic deeds, love, excitement, and mystery, as well as nature, soil, fire, water, and air are mentioned. Mythology, literature, history, philosophy, tradition, custom, law, color, pattern, power, energy, and many other subjects that we cannot count have taken their place in the verses of folk songs. From this perspective, it is seen that Anatolia has a very rich and deeply rooted folk tradition due to its geographical features. In the literature review of the study, no study on folk tales in ceramic art was found before. Therefore, instead of singing folk songs, the interpretation of ceramics on surfaces with plastic and rich expression language was investigated within the scope of this study which can be considered as original. The songs with the theme of separation have been listened to and the designs of each song have been thought and applied according to that period. Wood, wire, underglaze decor, colored and colorless glazes and textures were used together to create a common language. Keywords: Folk Songs, Separation, Music, and Ceramics,
