Abstract (EN)
In the history of cinema, the relationship between cinema and literature and the shooting of adapted films begins exactly with the film Le Voyage Dans la Lune (Journey to the Moon) by Melies. After this film, which Melies shot inspired by the narrative integrity and language of literature, the relationship between cinema and literature, Griffith's transfer the editing method used in Charles Dickens's novels to the language of cinema and creating a new cinematic editing method, connected these two different branches of art. Thus, cinema, which is a brand new art branch, took literature, which is one of the traditional arts, as a source, and created its expression language and tools by taking the expression language of literature as an example. The new methods and techniques that cinema has created over time have also begun to affect literature, and interaction between these two arts has emerged. Adaptation is the first step in the relationship between cinema and literature. This subject has come from the birth of cinema to the present day, and as cinema developed its language of expression, and new and adaptation types emerged. In this study, the relationship and interaction between cinema and literature, approaches to this interaction, the techniques used in adapting works written in different literary genres to the cinema, and adaptation problems were investigated and how this development progressed in Azerbaijani cinema. Among the 86 adaptation films shot in Azerbaijani cinema, examples of films adapted from the author Anar's work written in three different literary genres were examined, and how literary works were adapted to film in Azerbaijani cinema was investigated. Selected films were compared with the original work and analyzed by the content analysis method. As a result of the examination, the cinematic methods used while adapting the dramatic structure of the work to the film were graphically revealed, and how they had different characteristics from the work.
