Özet (EN)

Animal names have an important place in the vocabulary. Animal names in the vocabulary of a language are indicative of the social life of the nation that owns that language. Human beings have been intertwined with animals throughout history, so the animal names they live with have also been reflected in the languages of nations. Azerbaijan has rich animal species due to the geography of Azerbaijan Turks and the climatic conditions of this geography. The variety of animal names is also manifested in the vocabulary of Azerbaijan Turkish. In our study called Comparing Animal Names Azerbaijani and Old Anatolian Turkish, we tried to determine whether the names of animals in Azerbaijani writing were used in Old Anatolian Turkish. We tried to identify the similar and different ones between the Azerbaijani and Old Anatolian Turkish. At the same time, we try to determine whether the names of animals in the Old Anatolian Turkish continue to be used in Azerbaijan literary language. Besides, we tried to give the names of animals used in dialects and accent of Azerbaijan.
