Fire cult in Azerbaijan and Turkey folk culture

Fire, one of the four elements, occupies a very important place in human life. Since the first pages of history, it has been a source of both fear and trust to man. The four elements keep the secret codes of the life that started from its existence and continues today. These secret codes have enriched as human history develops over a long period of time, holding a mirror for every people's past. Fire, which turned into a cult over time, attracted attention in different time periods and was seen as a resource for decoding codes. Fire, which is one of the most researched topics of Turkish Folk Culture Science, is of great importance in learning cultural codes. The fact that it is a very rich subject in terms of cult and culture has enabled it to be studied from different angles again. Azerbaijan and Turkey to examine the form of the comparison of the fire cult folk culture is important in terms of the common and different angles to reveal the cultural code. The cult of fire has an important place in the literature examples created by the people, whether in ancient religions or in the past. The role of fire in the birth, life and death of human beings symbolizes its past, present and future eternity. For this reason, as long as life exists, the cult of fire will always have a widespread effect and will pave the way for the emergence of new cultural codes. During the study, common and different codes in the cultures of both countries will be determined. On the other hand, it will be tried to contribute academically and culturally to Azerbaijan Folk Culture Science by presenting the first holistic and comparative study on the cult of fire. Turkey Folklore is aimed at contributing to the study examined the cult of fire as the comparison is with Azerbaijan. There are factors that make the study important. That is to say, the work to be done will not only reveal the importance and place of the fire cult, but will reveal how this cult continues its existence in our lives or for what reasons it has not survived. Another important factor is that the fire cult study, which will only cover two countries, has not been carried out. Folklore data and methods will be used during the research. The subject will be handled in both geographic breadth and historical depth. This study, which will cover the cult of fire in two countries, will play a guiding role, although it will be a source for further studies on this issue in the future. It will contribute to studies on fire cult in Azerbaijan. It will be the first to examine the fire cult in the form of comparison. Fire cult of sheer Azerbaijan and a work that deals with common and different aspects in Turkey was not a coincidence. Therefore, this study will also contribute to Turkey Folklore.
