A criticism of Badiou's ontology relying on of counting-as-one in view of the ground of the one who count-as-one

In this thesis, a critical evaluation of the one-many relations in the ontology of the contemporary French philosopher Alain Badiou was made. In this context, counting-as-one, which is the basic concept of Badiou's ontology, is examined on the basis of one who count-as-one, which is a specific agent. For this, Badiou's contact points with mathematics and especially set theory are shown. Later, Badiou's concept of inconsistent multiplicity was discussed together with Plotinus and Kant. Here, the overlapping and divergent aspects of Plotinus's intelligible matter understanding and Kant's nomen-phenomenon distinction with Badiou's inconsistent multiple concept were conveyed and it was said that this mutual reading is important for understanding the topic. From this point of view, it was emphasized that Badiou's ontology based on one-counting is an incomplete project since it does not address the ground of one who count-as-one. From our point of view, one-sayan can only be a living being. Vitality lies on the ground of unification. Based on this discussion we had in the field of ontology, Badiou's views on the historical-social field were mentioned. In this context, the main lines of Badiou's theory of truth were revealed. In this context, it was emphasized that Badiou's ontology based on one-counting dealt with religion as a political truth outline through St. Paul. As a result of our examination on the ground of one who count-as-one, it was stated that religion should not be understood in the way Badiou handled, and that it should be understood only from a transcendent ground because of the transcendent unity that takes place on the ground of one who count-as-one.
