Attachment theory and school social work: A theoretical approach

This study aims to make a synthesis of the development and evaluation of care and education programs from the early period based on the relationship between attachment theory and social work. The literature regarding social work practice and its development stages after the emergence of the attachment theory was reviewed to propose a new point of view in the education field as an aim of this study. A synthesis of prominent findings derived from other social science fields interested in this topic was made. Another aspect of the research is to determine if social services and a local understanding will be possible in the context of attachment relations that emphasize the real life experiences of the child with the current programs, practices, and regulations in early care and school services in our country. In the 1970s, the attachment theory reached its general form and there has been intensive research based on this theory especially in recent years. The main premise is that the social sciences, which play an important role in the control and supervision of change brought about by capitalist globalization in societies, have increased the influence of attachment theory in the fields of public health and education. We will try to discuss the need for a new and local conceptualization based on social service studies which have an important role in the control and obligations of the state in the social spheres in the first industrial societies in England and USA and which function as construction of an American image identical to modern capitalism.
