Özet (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between attachment styles, self-esteem and relationship stability of individuals in romantic relationships. A total of 225 people, 148 women and 77 men, aged 18 and over, who have a romantic relationship (lover/flört, fiance) participated in the research. Personal Information Form, Relationship Questionnaires, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and Relationship Stability Scale were applied to the participants within the scope of the research. According to our research findings; It was determined that self-esteem and relationship stability did not differ according to gender. Secure attachment (p<.01), dismissive attachment (p<.05) and preoccupied attachment (p<.05) showed significant differences by gender. A positive and significant relationship was found between secure attachment and self-esteem (p<.001) and relationship satisfaction (p<.01), which is the sub-dimension of relationship stability. However, attachment dimensions and self-esteem do not predict the quality of options (p>.05). Significant differences were found in the dimensions of self-esteem (p<.05), relationship satisfaction (p<.01), relationship investment (p<.01) according to relationship status. Self-esteem score averages of those whose relationship status is fiance (Avg = 32.88, Sd = 4.55) were found to be significantly higher than those who were lovers/flört (Mean = 31.30, Sd = 5.48). Similarly, relationship investment (Av = 44.65, Sd = 10.39) and relationship satisfaction (Av = 57.37, Sd = 9.34) were found to be significantly higher in those whose relationship status was fiance. A relationship was also found between the participants' duration of being together and the dimension of relationship satisfaction (p<.001), the dimension of evaluating the quality of options (p<.020), and the dimension of relationship investment (p<.006). Relationship satisfaction and relationship investment of those with a duration of less than one year were found to be lower than those with a duration of three years or more. It was determined that the average score of the evaluation dimension of the quality of the options of those with a duration of one year or more together was higher than those with a duration of three years or more.
