Abstract (EN)
This thesis study was conducted to examine dependent personality disorder (DPD) in terms of its organizational consequences. Due to the lack of a suitable Turkish measurement tool for the study, the dependent personality disorder scale developed by Tyrer, Morgan, and Cicchetti (2004) was adapted by obtaining necessary permissions, with the findings obtained from 468 participants, and the psychometric properties of the scale were tested. Afterwards, the relationships of dependent personality disorder with job satisfaction, satisfaction with the manager, satisfaction with the organization, work overload and abusive supervision perception were measured. In addition, the differentiation levels of DPD and other organizational variables in terms of socio-demographic characteristics were examined. The thesis study was designed with a quantitative research design and the survey data collection method was used. In the research, adapted dependent personality disorder scale, job satisfaction scale, satisfaction with the manager scale, satisfaction with the organization scale, work overload scale and abusive supervision scale were used. Participants took part in the survey study face-to-face and online. 710 blue and white collar employees working in the public and private sectors throughout Turkey participated in the research. In order to test the research questions and hypotheses, internal consistency tests were performed, and then frequency, difference and correlation analyzes were performed. As a result of the research, a statistically significant negative and weak relationship was found between DPD, job satisfaction and satisfaction with the manager. On the other hand, a statistically significant positive weak correlation was found between DPD and work overload and abusive supervision. In addition, it has been determined that DPD differs statistically significantly according to the level of employment, working status in managerial position and sector. The findings of the research and the possible reasons for the results are given in the discussion section.
