Governing structure of independent Turkic Republics and the comparison with democratic regimes

In this study, government systems of independent Turkic Republics, namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus were discussed under the titles of executive, legislative and judicial. Besides, executive, legislative and judicial organs of countries which are considered to be the pioneers of democratic government systems such as United States in the presidential system, Britain in the parliamentary system and France in the semi-presidential system were discussed. Thereafter, independent Turkic Republics, which adopt a similar government system, were compared one by one with these leading countries. The study consists of seven main sections. Independent Turkic Republics were examined one by one in each section. Within the framework of the distribution of duties and powers, the executive, legislative and judicial arrangements of these states were investigated through the constitutional articles. Under the executive title; candidacy conditions of presidents, election process, duties and powers of presidents were explained and the same issues were specified for the government. Under the legislative title; the structure of the parliament, the conditions of being a deputy, the election conditions and the duties and powers of the parliament were examined. Under the title of judiciary; types of courts and activities of judicial body were explained. In addition, comparison parts that form the basis of this study is included at the end of each section.
