Grammatical analysis of Bâkî's work Fezâil'ül-Jihâd

This study is a master's thesis prepared with the grammatical analysis of the translated work titled "Feżâilü'l-Jihâd" which is a religious text. The study is Bâkî's translation of the book titled "Meşâriu'l-Eşvâk ilâ Mesâri'i'l-Uşşâk" originally authored by Ahmed ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Nuhhas ed-Dimashki ed-Dimyati (d. 814 AH / 1411-12 AD). The study was conducted on the 1286th copy from Ali Emiri and the 06 Hk 3910 copy from Adnan Ötüken, both of which are among the numerous copies of the same work. In addition, Cevdet Dadaş's doctoral thesis titled "Bâḳî Feżâilü'l- Jihâd", in which he transcribed the 1286th Ali Emiri copy using the transliteration alphabet, has been accepted as a copy and considered alongside other copies in the study. In the study, each page and line of the examined copies were systematically numbered, facilitating the referencing of specific words and sentences. Discrepancies among the copies are documented in the footnotes section. The study comprises three main sections: introduction, examination, and conclusion. The introduction section provides information about Bâkî and the work "Fezâilü'l- Jihâd" along with details about the study's objectives, limitations, methodology, and insights into the place of "Feżâilü'l- Jihâd" in the history of the Turkish language. The examination section focuses on phonology and morphology. The text has been analyzed, taking into consideration the linguistic characteristics of Old Anatolian Turkish. In this examination, both aspects in accordance with the period and those deviating from it have been identified and exemplified. In the conclusion section, the conclusions drawn from the examination have been gathered and presented along with examples.
